How Much Should I Expect To Pay For A Wedding Video

wedding_01

When looking for a wedding videographer, price is usually the number one concern. People seem to be unaware what a fair price is and what exactly that price covers. This is a breakdown of the average price of a wedding video.

Expect to pay around $1500 to $2000 for a standard wedding video. There are those who offer cheaper options, but the old saying holds true; you get what you pay for. There are also much more elaborate options that run into the 10′s of thousands of dollars, but if you’re reading an article about the price of wedding videos this probably doesn’t apply to you.

So what does that $1500 price get you. Well that price gets you at least a one camera shoot with editing and DVD output. Some companies charge more for a multiple camera shoot, but the benefits are worth it. By having multiple camera’s running the final edit will be much smoother and a more enjoyable viewing event. Your wedding videographer should be shooting with at least a 3CCD camera with most having moved onto a HD system.

They should also bring lights and microphones to the event. The microphones will help record the comments of guests and lights are needed usually at the reception. While cameras have improved in low light conditions over the last few years, most still won’t do a very good job in the low light offered by most receptions.

Most companies then include the edit into their price. Expect to get one rough cut to give feedback on and then receive the final piece. Any additional changes will likely cost you. The number of DVD’s delivered varies from company to company, but most average around 2-3 with the option to buy extra’s.

Here at Drifter Entertainment we offer wedding video service’s starting at $1000. This includes a single camera shoot and 5 DVD’s delivered for you and your family. We can also bundle the service with a wedding website to let your guest know more about your big day. Mention reading this article and receive 10% off.

Dudes, I would bag the wedding videos on your website… you guys seem to want to do professional movies. I know Wed Vids pay bills, just don’t put that out here. Make another site designed for party planners… trust me… BASSIC Productions has recorded more than our share of Weddings, Barmitzvas…!
